Travis Greene – While I’m waiting, I will trust in You
Waiting on God can be difficult at times. He speaks a promise to us, and we believe. We’re so excited! He is getting ready to do something, and we can hardly stand still!
So we wait for Him to fulfill His Promise.
Hours turn into days. Days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into months… and yes, sometimes even years.
We hang on to His promise, and remind ourselves that His Word never comes back void. He will accomplish exactly what He says He will! (Isaiah 55:11)
This song is very encouraging to me as I’m waiting for God to fulfill a few of His promises.
Write it down!
This is why it’s so important to be clear about what He has spoken to us. When God speaks to you, be sure to write it down in a special notebook, journal or diary. Each day that you wait for Him to accomplish what He has promised, you will be thankful that you know exactly what He said.
What a tragedy it would be to give up, just before He comes through and accomplishes exactly what He said He would!
In this world of instant noodles, microwaves and minute rice, we forget that the best things take time to grow. The more links must come together for the promise to be fulfilled, the more beautiful and intricate it is.
Why we wait for His Promise
Yes, the joy of seeing His promise fulfilled is AMAZING! But even greater than that, is the way our faith will rise toward Him as we are waiting… It is the purpose for every delay.
Each time you remind yourself of His promises, your faith will become stronger. He will give you strength to run on, even when you are weary. (Isaiah 40:27-31)
So don’t give up on His promises. Wait for Him to act. Continue to believe God and cling to Him, even when the emotions are not there.
God is not a man, that He should lie. He doesn’t change His mind. We can trust Him to do exactly what He said He will do. (Numbers 23:19)
Is there a promise God has made you have forgotten about? If so, take time to remember. Renew your prayers to Him to bring it to pass. Read His Word to find His promises to do what He said He would.
