MaineStreams Media Ministries Financial Policy

stockfree.org financialHere at MaineStreams, we take the trust you put in us very seriously. As a result, we have put financial measures in place to stay accountable to you in the way we use your gifts… which is what God expects of us.  And we will continue to improve the level of integrity in the months and years to come.

It’s not just what we accomplish in ministry that matters, but also the integrity with which we serve.

In light of this, we wanted to share with you some of the rules we have put in place to remain transparent in our service for Christ.

If you have any questions or comments concerning this financial policy, please contact us.

Who we are

  1. Because God expects it of us, we take financial integrity very seriously. We want to be sure that our financial supporters know that the gifts they send are being used for the purposes for which they sent them. As a result, we established safeguards to guarantee this.
  2. Because MaineStreams Media Ministries is currently a business of one, it is starting off as a for-profit business. However, it runs in such a way as to not provide a personal profit.  Our next step is to become a Limited Liability Company (LLC) registered with the State of Maine.  We will take further steps as God provides a team to work together with us. (i.e. me)
  3. We have not yet registered as a non-profit with the United States Internal Revenue Service.  As a result, we are unable to provide tax-deductible receipts.

Financial Reporting and Accountability

  1. We send out an annual report to all supporters who gave in a given year.  We will try to send it out by March 31st of the following year.
  2. Each annual report includes a letter and a spreadsheet. The letter explains what we did in the previous year.  The spreadsheet shows how we used every penny of donations.
  3. Anyone can review our annual reports.  To do so, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the links below.
  4. We are directly accountable to our donors. When a donor or donors suggest an improvement, we will work directly with them to make the change in the way we do business.
  5. An annual certified audit by an outside independent public accounting firm would cost about five thousand dollars.  Because this is so high in proportion to what comes in annually to the ministry, we cannot justify conducting such an audit at this time.  We may do so if a) a donor wishes to contribute the cost of such an audit or if b) the cost of an audit becomes financially feasible in proportion to the annual income.
