God targets pride; stay out of the line of fire

Pride puts a big target on our backsIsaiah 2:7-17 (LITV) :

“The lofty eyes of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down;

but Jehovah, He alone, will be exalted in that day.

For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased;

And the pride of man shall be humbled; and the loftiness of men shall be abased; and Jehovah alone will be exalted in that day.”

Prosperity can be our enemy. When I take myself too seriously, I can be led to think that I am more important than I really am.

God said that Elihu’s counsel to Job was correct.  And Elihu said that pride keeps God from hearing our prayers. (Job 35:10-13)

If we have anything in this world, it is because God blessed us.

When God blesses us, He watches us.  Each blessing is a test to see in which direction our hearts are pointing.

God has targeted the proud and lofty ones.  He will bring them down low, in His time.

I need to stay out of the firing line by remaining humble before Him.

Next time He blesses me far above my expectations, I don’t want to fail the test.

I am still learning how to be satisfied with what He has already given me, and to enjoy the blessings He has brought into my life.
