I love facing challenges that stretch me beyond what I expect… especially when they take me to arenas where others have never fought. So when I talk about the advantages of living in a tent, please don’t feel bad for me! Each objective pushes me to be free of mindsets and modern conveniences most cannot live without.
Nine months ago, God provided a camper for me to live in. What a wonderful blessing it has been to call this place home! It’s just the right size for me: not too big, not too small.
I expected to live in the camper through the Maine winter. So I made preparations for the cooler weather. This included buying long underwear, a ceramic space heater and an induction cooktop.
Do you need a miracle from God? Perhaps you need to pay a bill, need a new car, or a new home.
Once again, I would like to personally testify that our Heavenly Father is faithful to provide every need we have, whether small or great! Our role is to hang on for dear life and trust Him, no matter what. Make room for His miracle-working power to act!
December 4th was my last day at work at the Bar Harbor Inn. Right then, I knew it was time to move out of my home in Bar Harbor. Because of a COVID scare, the hotel where I work suddenly closed for the season, earlier than expected.
My bosses welcomed me to stay in employee housing until we reopened in the Spring. However, on unemployment, I could not afford the rent I would have to pay. I would have to look for a year-round job. To me, it didn’t seem right to potentially have to work for a new employer… while living in my current employer’s housing.
I had no idea where I was going to stay next. There were several options available to me, but all of them were temporary fixes.
Yet in my heart, I remembered my Coronavirus miracle. Last time I was laid off, God had provided a place for me to stay. Could He not do the same again?
While I'm Waiting by Travis Greene, featuring Chandler Moore
Travis Greene – While I’m waiting, I will trust in You
Waiting on God can be difficult at times. He speaks a promise to us, and we believe. We’re so excited! He is getting ready to do something, and we can hardly stand still!
So we wait for Him to fulfill His Promise.
Hours turn into days. Days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into months… and yes, sometimes even years.
We hang on to His promise, and remind ourselves that His Word never comes back void. He will accomplish exactly what He says He will! (Isaiah 55:11)
This song is very encouraging to me as I’m waiting for God to fulfill a few of His promises.
